http://i.imgur.com/7y4GEhE.jpg Finally got around to doing this to my 2010 Subaru Legacy! I used the Alpena LEDs as well (I don't think they were the Nano ones posted above, mine were a wider strip I think) but they were too bright at 12v. Luckily they come in two strips so I wired the 2 in series into the 12v for the shifter illumination. Now they can even be controlled with the dimmer!
