I am pretty sure you can extend the warranty whenever you want as long as you are under the factory warranty. I would wait until you get close to that.

I live in hampton roads and when I got my car inspected all they checked were all the lights and e-brake. I didnt even know they did emissions tests around here.

how much did you get it for? I just picked a 3.0r too. Its a great car so far. Cant believe you went that far away. I picked mine up 5 hours away which I thought was far. Good luck with the car.
