Good theory. I adjusted the clutch over the weekend and it disengages fully again, and I can shift easily. But the pedal throw is awkwardly long.

There's no grinding, it just won't go into reverse if the engine is running.

Engine off, it goes into reverse no problem. First, too. Knowing that, I can at least continue to drive the car... :)...

Apparently I over-filled it with only 3.5 qts....

Apparently I over-filled it with only 3.5 qts. It's supposed to hold 4.3L, and it drained for 24 hours. Go figure.

Still doesn't shift well. :|

My guess is "system too lean" caused by a vacuum leak, but you shouldn't rely on a guess - scan the code. That's what OBD2 is for.

It's just as likely that they are one-piece...

It's just as likely that they are one-piece wheels with fake bolt-heads molded into the wheel to simulate the look of a three-piece. Without knowing the make and model it's hard to say.
