  1. I ordered a Metra Subaru radio install kit (70-8901) for a few bucks off ebay. I figure I can take the pins out of the adapter and use those in the e85 connector on the legacy. John
  2. Nope, they had to order it. I specifically asked them if it was only available for warranty replacement, and they said no. Earlier in the summer when I tried to to order it from the same dealership, they said it was only available for warranty replacement. I think subarugenuineparts is relaying old information. John John
  3. Yep, that's the part number. Either that kit, or the 08 impreza kit listed earlier a page ago. Time for a new dealer. John
  4. 05 GT limited sedan. Plug and play, apart from the Aux input. The details are in the first post of this thread. John
  5. Sure - $520, after a 10% coupon I found on my.subaru.com. The SRS WOW feature is well worth the upgrade. Haven't done the aux-in yet, probably tackle that sometime soon. John
  6. I ordered the radio from my local dealership last week, and it showed up today. So, it looks like it's no longer 'warranty only'. John
  7. Sadly, the dealership is less than a mile from my house. I won't be able to run very far... John
  8. Mine does the same thing. Thanks for reminding me about it.... Speaking of the Bezel fix, the car was at the dealership yesterday to get the scratch parts replaced, and to have the 'fix' installed properly. Well, they did half of the job...and didn't bother to 'fix' the misinstalled part. I think the service writer thought I was about to go ballastic, and they managed to get it into a bay and repaired in 20 minutes. When it was all done, I get back into the car to check it out; and you could tell the tech had used a screwdriver to pop out the pop-screws under the glove box. He left his screwdriver in the car, and the pop-outs looked very assaulted. John
  9. Well, I was wrong, they didn't break the new part when they installed it. They did manged to not install it properly, so there's a lip at the left hand edge of the glovebox. The mechanic didn't bother to remove the under-dash stuff and tuck the part under. It's just laying on top. So, when the car goes back next week for the bezel, I'll be sure to have them fix their install. Must....resisit....urge....to....firebomb....dealership....... John
  10. Yeah, they ordered the part, then decided it wouldn't fix the problem. Of course, the mechanic argued with me that you can't believe everything on the internet. So, the second time around they replaced the part and everything lines up fine now. Of course (and this is where it gets good), not only did they scratch the hell out of my shifter surround, they managed to scratch the hell out of the new part when they installed it. So, they're now replacing both parts. Well, they're ordering both parts. I'll be replacing them. And people wonder why I don't trust other people to work on my cars. John
  11. Well, I wish I could report success with my local dealership. I called last week and had them order in the part and schedule a visit to apply the fix. Well, the car was there all day today and all they managed to do was place a few shims under the screws and scratch the hell out of my shifter bezel. So, armed with this thread, I talked to the service supervisor and asked if they could actually fix it correctly. He then called in the mechanic who, uh, 'fixed' the problem. The mechanic seemed a little confused as to how the part could fix the problem. Now, I'm not an engineer, or even a mechanic, but it seems to me that the part that the bezel attaches to could actually affect how it lines up. So, with much grumbling, the mechanic agreed to do the fix. But he acted like he was doing me some sort of favor. The car will be done tonight, and hopefully fixed. John
  12. Happened to me this morning. First time in 5 months and 9K miles that it has done it. John
