I would notice it when I would accelerate until the car was warmed up some. Mainly high end of 1st gear and low to mid rang of second. I'm sure removing the heat shield isn't ideal but no, I haven't...

I had this issue with my 06 except it was much more noticeable if I did a quick rev of the engine up to about 2000 rpms. In my case, it was the heat shielding by the exhaust manifold like legacyshawn...
