You could in XT limited models only in 07 and 08. I own a 2007 Xt limited outback with a 5spd. Came with the 2.5 turbo and Si drive. (big whoopie on the Si drive)

Well, I just got the car back, they replaced...

Well, I just got the car back, they replaced three other bearings and it runs smooth and silent. The service manager was great so I just have to cross my finger and hope its good for life.

Had a transmission bearing go out at 17,000 on a 5mt. Whined like crazy, bearing near something called the "output shaft", anywho Subaru had the car for three days, got it back, shifter was "notchy"...

I see they have a map update for stage one on an 07, is it worth the time? It says 2 hp. But I suppose it claims to have some safety built in....

Thats what happened to me. Reflash cost me 25-30% in gas milage. Stutter came back within 1500 miles but the crappy gas milage stayed.

Not everyone can expect the same milage increase I got. My original map was getting about this kind of milage when I bought the car but with horrible stutter. Subaru put on a reflash that helped...
