  1. I solved my problem by discovering the button on the end of the knob.
  2. Easy on the "just search the forum" reply Proflash, my questions concerns are still legitimate, as are others here. Theres not a concise write up, nor have the potentially dangerous implications of the light been thoroughly outlined... The reason I found this, is because I did search the forum.. The annuls on this topic aren't entirely conclusive, and It would be amazing to have someone attempt to answer them (When you search: (This seems to be the hottest thread on the topic when you search, otherwise you mostly just find stuff like this: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fauly-airbag-harnessi-214006.html?t=214006&highlight=air+bag+light ; http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/airbag-light-153676p2.html?highlight=air+bag+light )) Besides, some people have solved their problem with the dealership not touching the solder, and some who've soldered didn't fix their problems, so on so forth. The other problem areas aren't clearly defined. I sure haven't found how much of a safety concern this light really is, but it is potentially pointlessly devastating if the bags don't deploy on impact. I don't know, and Im not sure most of us do either. I would imagine that this light could be on for a legitimate reason to, not from the poor solder job. So whats that legitimate problem, the intended function of the light, anyway? Whatever the case, this is such a common problem, a writeup is direly needed, the case isn't closed, so don't tell people to "go searching" JUST YET..
  3. This is Lacey, my first Subie. Bought 1/4/14. http://i40.tinypic.com/px93l.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/2i105c8.jpg
  4. How come I hadn't stumbled across this on any other forum?? I saw lists of all my old cars cheap mods, and this wasn't one of them! I have to assume there are side effects. But I know for sure that it would be fun for a weekend, or two!
  5. I bought my 08 Legacy yesterday, and have this light on too. Light wasn't on yesterday that I noticed, but now it is (notably cold today.) Went to the autozone for their OBD-II, before googling up this thread. Clearly nothing came of the OBD scan. -->My question is, how superficial is this light? --Is it merely a red light wasting some watts, or is it going to affect my airbags in an accident? How many different solutions could I perform before truly fixing the light? This seems like it should become a write-up thread somehow, on each of the ways the light can be set off, the There are widespread occurrences of this problem- http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2006/subaru/legacy/10512662.aspx http://www.carcomplaints.com/Subaru/Legacy/2006/seat_belts_air_bags/air_bags.shtml Lastly, from the article, what FAULT may this be? --- Subaru of America, Inc. had a problem with AIR BAGS . THE PASSENGER AIRBAG STATUS LIGHT IS INTERMITTENT. IN COLD WEATHER, IT DOES NOT WORK, "GENERATING AN AIRBAG FAULT." THE PROBLEM IS POOR SOLDER IN PART #84621AG41A. OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. ----> http://car-and-safety.com/subaru-legacy-safety/subaru-legacy-2006.htm
  6. Can I get a follow up on this problem? I just bought my legacy yesterday and it won't pump any wiper fluid either.
