I did the maths on this way back in 2005... and...

My 05 has squeaked since day-1... never have been able to fix it. It's actually inside the cross-mechanism under the dash (where the clutch control extends past the brake pedal) and it squeaks...

FWIW - when I tow, or carry a heavy load in the wagon, I bump the rear TP to 38 lbs versus normal 34 lbs, per Subarus spec for loading/towing. Front remains at 36 lbs.
