I've been having this same problem on my 1992 manual wagon. Sometime it runs fine, then sometimes it feels like something is pushing the car back as I'm driving it.

How was the connection with the grounding wire leading out of the negative battery connection? I know it gave me trouble a couple times before on my 92 wagon.

Not sure what it cost to get them tinted here, but I can tell you that anything above 35% in the front will give you a golden ticket in Virginia.

P.S. stripping 22+ year-old tint is a PITA.
