Excellent observations. I agree completely. There are some advantages and disadvantages to stiffening up the sway bars. Like you say, you are only going to get so much out of them and the springs...

Bigger rear sway bar will create oversteer, which our car has quite a bit of to begin with. The VDC is known to be slow to react and the rear comes around without additional oversteer.
