Ok, I think this is most definitely the head unit (Kenwood). I'm hoping the Harman Kardon rep can point me in the right direction with a contact at Kenwood.

Ok, I used my test CD. Even with the silent track, the EFI hiss is there... until the gate sees that there is no signal and drops.

Burning a CD with silence, as well as 60hz, 120hz, and 240hz. My thought is that I may need a constant tone in there to keep the noise gate open. Will try this out tomorrow and report back. Thanks!

I believe these are line level inputs on the amp. I can check with HK.

This is not RPM dependent. It centers around 6.5k. I have a recording of it,...

Not a stupid question at all! No noise at 0. And again, the 'noise' isn't the normal noise floor that almost all of those systems produce. I swear I think this is coming from the display or some...

I get a noise in the 05 OB LL Bean just after turning the car off. But it sounds almost like a boiling over, even thought it isn't. Still haven't figured it out.

I purchased a 2011 Legacy Limited a few months ago. It has the Kenwood OEM head unit with nav + the Harman Kardon amp/speakers.

I didn't realize until after the purchase that the system emits...
