  1. I've been reading this thread. I had a 2010 Legacy, and had the larger mm rear sway bar installed. It did seem to improve the drifting. Now have a 2015 Legacy, and I don't feel the drifting on highways. Seems more solid on the road in its stock configuration than the 2010. My point here is, why do Subaru seem to have all this drifting discussions. Do other vehicles have these problems? I know that many after market improvements can be done to enhance OEM stock car's ride and other enhancements such as increased HP, etc.
  2. After 5 years of purchasing our 2010 Legacy Premium, now with 109K miles on the Clock, no issues with the CVT. The car has been regularly serviced, I changed the CVT fluid 2X. The first time at 40K was Dealer Prompted where I did not research in advance = probably unnecessary at that time. Overall as a Consumer review of the car (the first makeover year of the New generation Legacy), there were a bunch of gremlins. Frequent headlight bulbs replaced, faulty wiring harness in the driver side headlight harness (according to a local dealer); faulty audio stering wheel switch, never a truly wheel balance [always a slight shimmy that would vary at different speeds - Yes I had 2 dealers check into the Famous TSB about this]; one time a steering wheel Locked out & couldn't start the car or turn the wheel [all the dashboard lights flashing which related to the CEL, weird]; and somewhat troubling - there is "rumble" type sound that comes from the suspension that has been checked out 3X - according to the dealers: Normal, nothing could be found wrong, sound is normal. Gives me Pause to consider a new one.
  3. Quick consult with Cars 101.com - Subaru shows Camshaft Belt to be Replaced at 120K or 10 years. Of course , inspections every 30K.
  4. I haven't posted on the forum for awhile. We have 98K mils on our 2010 Legacy 2.5i. I've changed the CVT fluid 2X per dealer recommendations. At 100K I will probably do it again: I have One question? Does this car have a Timing Belt or Chain? How do i find out or should I consult the manual. THX
  5. 90 K on our 2010 Legacy 2.5i with CVT tranny. No issues. By the way, I've changed the CVT fluid 2X per the Dealer's recommendation. The Manual says that under "normal", driving conditions it should last 100K (?) [check my accuracy]. NY style of driving is NT normal / typical. Lots of traffic, with stop and go,etc. CVT fluid id not regular Tranny fluid; it's different. I also changed the differential fluids / oils at the same time. I believe there are 3 all together.
  6. jeffmaz, we have 86K on our 2010 legacy. Just replaced all the drive fluids for the second time: CVT, Diff & transfer fluids & oils, Flushed radiator, Brake fluid, oil & filter, Wheels rotated & balanced; new front brake rotors and pads .. Expensive service visit at $1400. PS: I'm bringing the car back for a wheel rebalancing. Since this service visit, a little more than "normal" shimmy in the steering wheel. When I say Normal Shimmy, these cars do not ride as smooth as others...must be a Subaru thing. It's acceptable to most people, and unacceptable to others. I have Cooper CS3s tires with 40K on them now. But with the OEMs tires, and 16" wheels (I upgraded to 17" Subbie Wheels over a year ago) I felt the slight shimmy at speeds at 65-75mph. Same with the 17" wheels.
  7. We have over 85K miles on our 2010 Legacy, changed the CVT fluid at 35K and at 75K per the dealer's recommendation. No issues at all.
  8. Well did you get the new Headlights : the Anzo's I presume?? were they Plug and Play?
  9. Are we talking about a "shudder" when coming to stop here?? My son was just complaining about that now starting to occur - a shudder when coming to a stop. He said it just started to occur recently. I'm going to take it for a ride today if I can. I think I saw something about this on the forum on a different thread but can't recall where? I had major service done a few months ago: including changing the CVT fluid, diff oils, oil, etc. at 63K miles on our 2010 2.5i Leggie.
  10. Close to 70K on our 2010 Legacy 2.5i Premium. Changed the CVT fluid for 2nd time - convinced by Dealer to do it. i argued that the Subaru manual indicates that the fluid should be good for 100k (?), I think. But under the circumstances of lots of stop and go traffic, it is recommended to chnage the CVT Tranny fluid every 36K according to my dealer. Not sure if its BS. i also changed all the Diff oils 2 X as well. No issues with the CVT at all. After getting used to a CVT, I think it's a Good Thing. Getting an average overall MPG of about 26.5 with plenty of mixed city, suburban and highway driving. My son drives the car primarily, and he's not too soft on the gas pedal....When I fill er up and drive it on occassions, normal commuting runs of 40 miles with 75% highway (with some traffic - Hey it's NY) and 25% Suburban / City driving - I"ll get 31 on the MPG screen.
  11. Just as a Further follow up: About the Gauge Cluster / Dashboard "squeak"..actually a little more than squeak... About a week before I brought my Legacy to another dealer closer to home on a saturday morning after discovering that a driver's side headlight went out the night before. That dealer was good enough to do the work that morning under warranty!! I suspect that either they created the squeak when doing the work or it was a Leftover from the Stereo guy who installed new speakers for me a few months ago..... Anyway, my Regular Dealer who has serviced the car since i bought it BUT is NT the dealer that sold the car (Grand Prix Subaru in Hicksville, NY), have been absolutely terrific. Couldn't Plug Them more. Discount savings on Parts (Bennie, the Parts Manager has moved on though), and Installations of accessories.
  12. Status update: Other members were right, all those lights come on to "catch Your Attention" according to the Dealer. Code p0026 came up. VVL Right Oil Control valve & solenoid, found to be malfunctioning and sticking. Replaced the valve - condition cured. THX for the responses. Interesting that all those lights illuminate and not just the CEL. I DID get our attention. Grand Prix Subaru in Hicksville Long Island, service my car (i did Not buy it from them). They are terrific. They also confirmed & found the slight wobble (movement) in the Driver's seat ( I couldn't recall the TSB # which I saw somewhere on this forum), ordered a new seat frame, to be installed next week. Free Oil & Filter Change (offered on every other service call), and they resecured the Gauge Cluster cover loose (i mentioned that there was noise coming from there over rough roads)......All under Warranty - no charge, no Hassle.
  13. Is it safe to drive? I've had CEL on other cars (oxygen sensors, etc), but never anything like this.
  14. Anyone have aclue what this means? Happened suddenly just now. Car is running a little rough, brakes works. i've never seen anything like this before. Checked and refastened the gas cap, No help. Started and restarted , no hlep. Much appreciate the advice. Have appointment with dealer in the morning for TSB of slight movement in driver's seat, Now this.
