  1. I think I've cracked the VF38 problem on the JDM/ADM GT's.. After months of reading and research I can tell you all the VF44 and the VF47 are direct bolt ons, but they are just as expensive, and no bigger, than the VF38. They do have the same compressor and turbine housing though. What I've discovered though (and it's a bit cheap and nasty..but do-able)... is that Kinugawa can match up a TD05H twinscroll turbine housing with a MY08/GH8+ TD05H compressor housing... Now.. you need a TD05H DP bellhousing such as.. http://www.avoturbo.com/avoshop/impreza-cast-turbo-outlet-vf3637-twinscroll-p-807.html And VoilĂ ! You have a TD05H-16G, 18G, 20G on a twinscroll, equal length header and up, with a modified down pipe. Don't even have to change the intercooler. That's the closest I've found for a 'bolt on' upgrade for the 2.0L JDM/ADM Legacy/Liberty from a VF38. I'll be trying this concept out after xmas. Should cost about $1100 + getting the flange welded on the down pipe, above the cat. How bout that?!
  2. If you're relpying to me, I realise all that.. but it still seems a bit silly to create an engine/turbo package that can only take one particular turbo from one particular manufacturer. What happens when they stop making VF38's? Whole new dump, manifold, turbo etc is required.. $5k cuz you spin a bearing in the VF38. yuk.
  3. Replacement for VF38 twinscroll turbo? I've been told by a few people that the manifold and downpipe fit ONLY this turbo. Can anyone confirm this? Seems silly to create the exhaust and manafold to be compatable with only one turbo..? Sure would like to upgrade..
  4. Here's the difference between new and 100,000kms on my change. Car feels like it's going a lot better with the new plugs. I had no trouble changing them just by removing airbox and battery. Small hands make the work easier for sure. Japanese hands? And one pic of the sunset I drove off in to...triumphant!!
  5. Yea.. but I called around and that was the going price for them here in oz. I'm also seeing a lot of people talking about 28-29 mpg but im lucky to get 20 mpg (12L/100Kms)... My 2.0L ADM liberty has forged pistons and runs 15psi from the factory though... I also have a heavy foot and mostly drive city. Anyone else only see about 20mpg around town? We use 98RON fuel for our 2.0 turbos here too. ouch again! >.< Well.. they do.. but they're for used plugs...lol and they stock about 6 new plugs for slighty more... I'm not inclined to trust those in my baby.. Would rather go to a reputable auto store and get them shiney and new in a box, properly gapped etc.. If several suppliers say they're $35-40 each... I'm inclined to accept that. They're only changed every 100,000kms too.
  6. The OEM plugs for my 05 ADM 2.0L twinscroll are NGK ILFR6B's.... just bought 4 at $38 each... ouch.
