  1. Great job on the wiring fix! I too went through that process but after a while they started to break again and the old problems started to come back.... so, as posted in my earlier thread, I order a brand new wiring harness from Subaru in Japan. Cost me $170AUD or so... took me a couple of hours to put in and everything is back to factory style now
  2. Well I did what has been done before by members here! After painstakingly soldering broken wires with heat shrink wrap and electrical tape for good measure, I gave in and purchased a new wiring loom....the same problems were starting to appear again. It had to be ordered in from Japan to Australia and cost me $175AUD. It took me about 3 hours to get it done - the hardest part were the plastic lugs and also a couple of the connectors were really hard to disconnect - WTF!! Anyway - its all done and everything is back to normal. Although I do have a couple of broken wires in the left hand rubber accordion now...sigh.
  3. Thanks to OP, very much!. I drive a RHD Legacy wagon in Asia-Pac and lost rear locking and rear wiper. On inspection, thanks to this thread AND after spending $150 at a dealership who fixed nothing - I found 5 severed wires. 4 on the right side and 1 earth wire (black w/red dots) on the left side. So everything is back to normal except for the backup lights - and I cannot figure out why they are not working. I think I might need to get a Volt meter perhaps and check the current?! Any other ideas? I am pretty sure my solder and wire connectivity is OK. I sealed all my joins with heat shrink tube...
