  1. One thing I noticed doing this job is that all of the bolts were not the same length. There were 3 different lengths on the pass side and two different lengths on the drivers side. Make sure to stick each bolt back in the same hole it came out of.
  2. Don't forget the coolant conditioner. It's like $4 from dealer.
  3. The only things I would probably add is get an OEM waterpump gasket if you're using the Gates ( I don't like the cheap paper gasket they provided), perform your coolant change and inspect your radiator / coolant hoses and belts prior to replacing the timing belt since if they're going to need replacement soon to save additional down time and replace them now.
  4. I've been looking but can't find a good answer. Do the Cusco camber plates work with the stock spring perches for this install to get up graded bearings with out raising the front end from the Spec B top hats? Or just go with the Whitelines? Thanks.
  5. The idlers and tensioner are 28.8 ft lb, the guide is 7.2 ft lb, the manual transimission guides are 4.7 ft lb, the timing belt cover is 3.7 ft lbs, and 132.7 ft lbs on the crank pulley. Follow the attached picture for the water pump. Make sure to Loctite all the bolts, except the crank bolt.
  6. Hoping this isn't thread jack, but I have a follow-on question regarding the Whiteline tophats.., so I used the Spec B tophats because I wanted the better bearings, but now I have a saggy rear appearance going on..., so I either wanted to lower the front a little more or get rear spacers. I'm leaning towards the front. Will the Whiteline units be the same size then as the stock LGT tophats so I can get it a little lower, not need the extra washer as a spacer, and get the better bearing? Thanks.
  7. Finally installed mine but with the H&R springs. Thanks to AZP for the help with a quick phone question. The front struts were so much taller than the worn out coilovers I replaced them with. I had to loosen the control arms to get the strut mounts to align with the knuckle. However, now it looks a little saggy in the rear to me, I'm wondering if there is extra height in front from using the Spec B tops with the washer thickness and should then get a saggy butt spacer for the rear or go to a different top hat? I think they're still settling more too, so that could also be a contributor.
  8. I have a question on the waterpump..., I've been reading a lot about these and watching the videos online. The vacation pix have you removing a cam sprocket but I have not seen anyone actually do this. Does the cam sprocket need to be removed to do the water pump? Thanks.
  9. Great walkthru and thanks for the heads up on the THMotorsports code. Mine should be here tomorrow. When you guys are using a washer as a spacer with the Spec B tops, it's just a regular washer from the hardware store or was it a real thick one? Just want to make sure I have all the parts I need ready for the build up. Thanks.
  10. I just changed mine over the weekend. I removed the airpump tube completely (there's a spring-type hose clamp in the front and 1 10mm bolt and a hose clamp in the back that can be easily accessed under the car, install is opposite of removal) With that out of the way, it's really tight but you can jiggle it around to get it rotated like suggested else where in this thread and it will come out. I found once you break the spark plug loose, if you use a 3/8"deepwell socket with a 1/2" to 3/8" adaptor it has just enough for you to use your hand to get remove / install the plug and easily get the tools out.
  11. Looking to trade my '07 wood pieces for the silver colored ones. Local to Philly.
  12. Myles, which Whiteline kit did you go with? Was it the Whiteline Front Control Arm Bushings P/N W0507 for the '08+ STi? Thanks. Just found FredBeansParts has the Whiteline Fronts as part W0506 for 05-09 LGT.

  14. I think Chuck Norris would spell all his words correctly.
