  1. I just spotted #334 at Carmax in Dulles VA. It sold on 6/17....
  2. I've used the '09 RX8 for the last 5 changes....I thought I had a pic on my phone of it, but I guess I deleted it.
  3. Forgive me, but is this just your opinion? Do you have any evidence to back your claims? Are you an expert? I'm not being a butthole, I'm genuinely curious. Having said that, I have a few thoughts. Generally speaking 5k is probably a good interval for those that don't have their oil analyzed, but for those like myself and Scooby (above) have found that we can extend our changes because the oil in our engines maintain all the properties necessary to protect our engines beyond 5k miles. One other question, how is an oilcooler/ heat exchanger a "pre-heater" in cold environments?
  4. Here is my oil analysis after 5k on T6: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/blackstone-lab-results-198099.html They came back and said that based on the TBN results (additives left in the oil) that 7k should be ok. Now, it really all depends on how you run your car and the conditions under which you drive your car, but I think 3K is excessive. I live in the mid Atlantic, drive my car pretty hard and have a short stop-and-go ride to work. Based on the lab results ($35) I'm going to shoot for 5K, but if I run over 500 miles I know I don't have to panic.
  5. The filter for the '09 RX8 are black Tokyo Roki filters. They are about 33% larger then the Legacy filter (length wise) but fit perfectly on the Leggy. They also use the 20-25lb by-pass like stock leggy filters do.... I use 'um in my car. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=90994&d=1286496853
  6. This is my Backstone labs report. Few notes.... 2006 Legacy GT sedan. I don't abuse it, but I like the acceleration and tend to wind it out a bit sometimes.... I ran the oil over the summer. Ran 5k miles between May and early December (I live near Washington DC) I work 3 miles from work (one way) Takes 10 minutes and there are 7-10 stops, which explains the fuel dilution. I run Shell Rotella T6 and the Blue Subaru filter for the last 4 oil changes (about 20k miles). Though this past change I switched to the 2009 RX8 Black Tokio Roki (however you spell it) filter. For those that aren't familiar, it has the same specs as the Subaru (including bypass pressure), but is physically larger about at least 35% and I'm told is better quality. The car had 64k miles the day I took the sample and I drove it 5k miles and didn't add any oil, though I was about 2/3rd of a quart low when I did the change. http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k563/csbrown28/forum_zps723b9fb9.png
  7. I get about 1 a year that always clears by the next day...
  8. I'm no expert (another way of saying I'm talking out my ass), but the code has something to do with the vehicles communication via the data bus. If I had to guess, I'd say check and make sure everything is connected (correctly). Make sure nothing got cut/ pinched.
  9. I took mine to the dealer 24hrs later and they said that a drop in voltage can cause the problem, but since the CEL was gone by the time I got it to the dealer I can't be sure if they are right. It hasn't come back and its been several months. The jerky acceleration had nothing to do with it. Same for the mileage. That was dirty fuel injectors. I read something about some kinda wiring under the driver seat if memory serves. The "HC" in the code has to do with the communications system (wiring). That's all (I think) I know. Give us an update if you learn anything. EDIT: I should mention that my 06 has as relatively low miles (48k). It's never been raced or abused and is in mint condition and is 100% OEM (still has original tires...lol)
  10. It's an old thread, but I'll add to it.... Same symptoms, CEL, Flashing CC and "ER HC" under the trip odometer. Autozone spit out the P0600 code. Interestingly someone else in the thread said they were experiencing jerky acceleration. I've been having the same problem at low RPM when first starting out it's seems jerky until the turbo kicks in. The mileage is pretty bad too...Getting like 16-21 in mostly city driving, but I'm not hard on the car. Even on long trips where its 70%+ highway I'm getting 23.... I have 2,500 left on the PT warranty, so let's see what Subie has to say....
