  1. Followed a 5th Gen LGT down the hill on VT Rt 100 North coming into Waterbury this afternoon. Aftermarket exhaust (at least tips), but otherwise clean GGM (at least from behind). If you're here, I was the blue FXT behind you coming down the hill and, if I got too close, it was only to see if a dual-exhaust 5th Gen was a GT or a 3.6R. My bad, and not like I can see the scoop from astern. Any chance that ride has over 150K miles (or well more by now) and an RCE Blacks/Bilstein suspension combo? Always wondered where my GGM 5th Gen ended up almost 3 years ago now.
  2. I found him (the one I posted about earlier with the Harpoon Beer bumper sticker)!!! Ripstik will grok the exact spot, the Mobil station across from Lang Farm Plaza in Essex, VT. I had finished up with my grocery shopping at Hannaford and needed a road soda, so I hit the Mobil station. I hop back in my rig and, while clearing mirrors, notice a 5th Gen LGT hood scoop. Shut the Fozzy down, hop out, and meet the dude. Mid/late '30s is my guess. Gave him the legacygt.com URL and wish him well and please join us. Says he has 114K miles on his; they must be light miles because she looks pristine. Wasn't sure of the color before (mud season), but she's black. Hope he comes here after some large fat man with no hair and an orange polo walked up to him at a gas pump. Wife/GF/POOSSLQ stayed in the passenger seat and probably thought I was a criminal. That's the third 5th Gen LGT I've ever seen in VT beyond mine and only 2 of them had VT plates.
  3. You: 5th Gen Black LGT, Harpoon sticker on rear bumper. From the license plate, you've owned it 6-12 months. Me: Blue '16 FXT right behind you. Where: Lang Farm Plaza, Essex, VT. You headed for the restaurant/apartment side; I went for Hannaford. When: Today (9 JUN 2017), roughly 2 PM.
  4. Grandma's car was free. She gave it to the wife (she's wife's Mom) specifically for my daughter's use when she took herself off the roads (thank Bob she did it voluntarily). Last thing you want with a 19-YO is a car with a loan against it, which means FULL insurance. The Honda doesn't have collision coverage, as the first off-road will total it anyway. At least its airbags got fixed. If certain financial projections come about, though, I do foresee a Crosstrek XV in the daughter's future. Given the minimal price difference between new and used here in VT, it makes sense just to go with new for the warranty.
  5. Yeah, but my only kid is in college and has her own car (Grandma's '02 Accord).
  6. Nah, if you're going to spend kilobucks on a shooting brake, take this one:
  7. Hmm, with Buick's new entry, what say y'all to a Buick Regal Wagon GNX??
  8. Well, if flat-8 is what you want, go roll the couch for several million $$ in pocket change and get yourself a Porsche 907 or 908 and hang it out the stern. Not sure if there's ever been a flat-8/10/12 that didn't come from Zuffenhausen or Maranello.
  9. I put about 45,000 miles on a Blackstein combo over the lunar landscapes of Vermont and the combo never did "wear in". I've said it before, but Blacksteins should be reserved for those who only see pavement as smooth as a baby's arse (i.e., where they were designed/tested).
  10. Any time you want a guide for the proper lines on 117 from the Circ to I-89, just look for a QBP Forester XT bearing a plate that looks a lot like my forum name. By that time the tranny is warm and is in S#, so I'm ready to roll.
  11. Keep your eyes open for a QBP FXT with a license plate that looks a lot like my forum handle.
  12. C'mon up to VT and I'll wave from my QBP Forester XT. Haven't seen a 5th Gen LGT since I traded mine in last October.
  13. There's a '10 LGT at Burlington (VT) Subaru, but you'll have to hurry. She'll be wholesaled, so likely will be gone by Tuesday (assuming a tech doesn't buy it).
  14. Don't worry, I'm not leaving the Subie family. Time to get my eyes up out of the nighttime glare and a Forester XT will do that nicely.
