  1. Hi all, I have an old legacy, and in cold weather recently I started smelling fuel in my car. I popped open the engine bay, and was able to identify a slow bubbling of fuel from a line under the intake manifold near the driver side. I guess this is a common problem in cold weather where the rubber lines shrink down and the clamps get a little loose. In warm weather now I'm not seeing any leaking at all, but want to tighten it up before it gets cold again in case this happens again. (Who knows, maybe it will resolve itself and it was only in extremely cold temps). I'm trying to access the phillips head screw, but only have ~ 1/2 - 3/4" of clearance to get to it in a very tight space to tighten it. Any tips? I really really really don't want to have to take this to someone to disassemble the intake manifold. Video of location here: https://vimeo.com/251690601 I tried using an offset phillips wrench, but it was a little too deep at ~ 1 1/8". Any other tips for getting in there? Has anyone dealt with the same?
  2. Has anyone in the DC/NoVA area done one of these? I'm about to start a 45-60m commute every day, and my '05 has no aux in. I could probably handle it since I've done audio installs in the past, but it would be nice to have the comfort of someone that's done one already. Also, if anyone has a kit that they never installed and want to sell a bit cheaper I'd also be interested in that.
  3. Quick question on the Autozone Cardone 60-7336 part. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/_/N-6o2dc?itemIdentifier=617210_0_1156_3498%2C6542 Is this an OEM axle that's just been rebuilt? Will it not have any of the vibration problems that the other 3rd party ones do? Also, I have an '05 LGT, manufactured in late '04. Not sure if it will fit for sure.
  4. LRegvall - I also get around 17mpg mixed driving (probably 60% stop-and-go, 40% highway). Let me know if you figure anything out. Mine is only an 05 w/ 36k miles, so I doubt I need new spark plugs. Does anyone know if you can use the Tactrix cable to check for a lazy o2 sensor?
  5. Hi,

I was reading some of your posts on this forum about detailing, and was wondering if you can help me with a few questions.

    I'm z28dreams on AOL IM.

Basically, I have some questions on polishing & how aggressive I should be/etc.

    Thanks,

    -Neil

  6. Has anyone that's ordered one of these in the DC area? I'm considering buying one but would want some assistance installing!
  7. Oooh... this looks like a much better solution. Has anyone in the DC/NOVA area done one of these and want to help me out?
  8. Has anyone found a way to bypass the blank CD or add a 3rd party deck w/o losing the auto climate control? I've been watching these forums for a while now but it seems like I'm stuck w/ this option :/
  9. Not including regular maintenance, very little. I'm a bang-for-the-buck kind of guy. Transmission Cooler - $50 Tactrix Cable - $70 Open Source Tune - FREE TOTAL: $120 Maintenance so far has been: $350 for 30k service + transmission cooler install included all synthetic fluids $20 pennzoil platinum oil change Other BS requirements: Insurance: $400/6 months VA personal property tax: $200 (bastards) Title/DMV tax - probably $500ish Next up: tires & brakes. I'm guessing it'll be around $350 for tires, not sure how much for brakes. Mods aren't killing me - it's standard maintenance.
  10. Ughhhhhhhh I know. Not sure how much this matters... but I'm using 93 octane fuel here in northern Virginia which also is 10% ethanol. Blah.
  11. VTGT, this is almost exactly how I drive my car and I'm seeing near identical mileage. If you're in NoVA still like me, the god awful traffic doesn't help either.
  12. Hmm...just measured my first full tank of gas or so. However, my driving is about 90% just to the grocery store which is a 2mile trip or so. I averaged 16mpg.... yuck. This was based on resetting the trip meter at the last fill up, and then dividing miles driven / amount of gallons in next fillup. I'm sure the nature of the trips hurts it...but this is just terrible. 31k miles on the car, all maintenance done properly. That's pretty terrible for a 2.5L car - turbo or not. Even my old grand prix which weighed 400lbs more and had a 3.8L engine did closer to 20mpg. My buyer's remorse for not going with a G35 is only increasing :/
  13. Hmmm... I thought that comment was only for the bleach + water solution? I believe I read somewhere that product like BG's frigi-fresh or whatever actually had similar ingredients to lysol.
  14. I'm getting a moldy smell when I run my AC ... about to spray some lysol in there and see if it helps. I'm guessing I should probably do this as well :/ (I have an 05)
  15. Car windows that fail are almost always the regulator or switch. I'd put a multimeter on the switch to make sure it's working properly. If that's fine, just swap out the reg.
