  1. need recommendations on a good place to do timing belt service on 2005 let thank. And yeah, I still have it (15 plus years) and it's still more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Robin
  2. Unlimited resistance, means NO resistance. If there is NO resistance, then you cannot have a capacitor effect. Same is true of no contact resistance .
  3. It's not a design flaw,it's a cost flaw.Tapered bearings and shafts are much more expensive to manufacture. One requires close tolerance tapers, the other just requires a close tolerance shaft. Tapered bearings can withstand much higher loads than spherical bearings. But they cost loads more to manufacture..
  4. Well, there are two possible solutions.Buy Timken or just put up with it.There are just not enough amps to create metal degradation. On the other hand,my experience with high RPM kart motors is that the slightest bit of rust or contaminate can score a bearing. In other words, use NASA type cleanliness when installing bearings.
  5. It's official, I won the FSS companionship this year. Wait till next year, with my kart with twice the HP, I may win overall, and kill the shifters.

I'll sent a pic of the trophy, so far all they want is my Tee shirt size:lol:

  6. The side panels I built myself from lexan. I think you mean left hand. The left hand mount is for close roadeuro engines. It is frequently used on road courses which tend to turn right (clockwise)and thus it is a weight distribution issue.

The kart is an 2000-005 CKS I think! No serial numbers on it. It was meant to run enduro or sprint.

It currently has a modified kt100 on it, which will be replaced by a 35HP plus Parilla that is sitting in the basement, this winter.

I am still in first place in FSS for the season and on a good day can still beat a few of the shifter karts in KM.

  7. Robin, just noticed your kart avy. What type kart? I have never seen a right mount motor on a kart. The Side panels are very old school (for dirt track?). But the chassis looks modern with the front crossbar between the two front wheels. What is it?
  8. A BOV does not add power and if it is working properly only prevents turbo surge.
  9. Wow, they are butt ugly:lol: But I am sure they show less dirt;)
