  1. Im not sure what the Canadian laws are. You are probably right that 90% of the engine mods we are doing are illegal to a point. Honestly though, if it can pass emissions and aren't creating safety/noise concerns, who cares if its illegal? I'm not doubting you can do the swap. Just trying to help you consider these things before you plop down that huge chunk of $$. I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do.
  2. I wonder if you could put an electronic or air locker in the front? Of course fully locked up in front would work very well either unless your going wheeling
  3. Can the front drive be disabled electronically? How will you prevent the tranny from exploding?
  4. I think it would make much more sense to do that. Then he just needs to worry about adapting the driveline and mounts. How does the size of that tranny compare to the Subaru one?
  5. Dr Sharp is right. That 5EAT is going to need a lot of money invested in order to handle that power you are shooting for (If you can adapt it to fit). Even at an optimistic 350ft-lb you should be investing at least $800 for a valve body mod. Much more power than that and you should be looking at an IPT built tranny which will set you back around 5 grand. I'm not sure if you have a trick up your sleeve but this is probably the reason I will never go much farther than stage 2 in one of these vehicles.
