  1. The 5eat cars use a different mounting bracket that is welded to the car. This is why a custom crossmember is needed. Pics are in this thread.
  2. Climber you are my freaking Hero! I just wish you could have discovered all of this info on IPT before I gave them so much of my hard earned money.
  3. I guess you could. I don't know any of the service guys at my local Subaru stealership though. I've only taken my car there on one occasion to fix an axle leak I didn't have time to fix, and they wanted no part of it. Apparently my 5mt swapped car is an abomination.
  4. You can't just swap one gauge cluster for another because of the immobilizer. The gauge cluster, imobilizer, ignition switch, key, and ecu have to come from the same donor vehicle.
  5. I need the following from the same 05 or 06 LGT: 5mt gauge cluster 5mt ecu ignition switch with key and key fob key fob antenna inside steering column (I think) All this to hopefully be able to use a manual gauge cluster, and get rid of that can bus error. To be completely honest I just don't think its worth it. If anyone has an extra 5mt gauge cluster I would be interested in just trying to switch the face plates.
  6. The only error code that you will see displayed will be a can bus comunication error. All other codes can be ignored using ecuflash or romraider. I've been trying to source all the parts needed to change my speedometer cluster and get rid of the can bus error, but everyone wants in excess of over a grand for those parts. IMO not worth it, the car runs great as it is.
  7. Subscribed! ClimberD your a brave man. I entertained the idea of performing my own rebuild for about a second until I looked at the vacation pics.
  8. They are different part #'s so I would say probably not.
  9. That's a great price for labor considering the work involved!
  10. Where do you think your Legacy is built Moron? If you don't like the idea of owning a product built by your fellow Americans then do us all a favor and GTFO.
  11. Frank-ster, what is your plan for getting the GN's flywheel attatched to the 5eat torque convertor?
  12. Keep in mind if that is the route you are taking for your 5mt swap, you will still need a 5MT gauge cluster, ECU, Key Fob antenna, and ignition switch from a donor car. Not saying it couldn't be done, it would just add a lot of cost to your swap. It would be nice to have the correct gauge cluster though!
  13. The only obstacle I can think of is whether or not the 6mt crossmember will need modified like the 5mt did.
