  1. changed my timing belt with a kit today (everything including seals, tensioner and water pump), last sunday i had started to hear an odd sound and asked here and other forums about it, then on monday the engine died and would not start, cranked but no spark so took everything off and found that the toothed pulley for the timing belt had siezed and took the belt with it (blued the inner steel race!) replaced it and not the car had no odd noise, no odd bogging down when i give it gas and is quieter then when i got it!
  2. for some reason part # 31337aa010 crosses to 31337aa130, and part # 31954aa070 crosses to 31954aa071, when i search for the part # on subaru e-store same thing right just updated part# right?
  3. yea my N/A did the same thing, was fine for short trips but if i got on it for any reason it said "nope" and died and every so often it died for no reason, turned out was my maf, either clean or replace, also pull the fuel pump relay and hold it to feel if it works, if it clicks then head to the pump and poke at that.
  4. i have an auto n/a only real bell whistle it has is AWD, and no i have not unplugged battery, it's idling ok now, been cold so that may be the culprit of high idle or me not making sure to tighten down clamps
  5. had to replace my Mass Air Flow sensor other day, bought from amazon for 130 (with tax and 2 day shipping) cheaper then any parts store in town, same dorman brand, no have no odd engine dying but idles a bit higher now.
  6. I think I figured out that it is the harness on the maf, when I move the wires the care dies the same way it does on the road, so for now I zip tied the harness and the wires tight an it runs good, so I need to find parts to repair the harness
  7. i had to replace the fuel pump the other day(why do they have two types of pumps? 1 1/2 in and a 2in diameter), the engine would just die for no reason, cycle the key and bam back to moving, replaced it after having to go get the other pump and engine ran fine until i gunned it on a hill going 40 it died again, does this randomly now and i think it may be a relay another person said the pressure reg may be going out, and other forum post i read said he suspected the knock sensor. any ideas?
  8. i swapped out the stereo that was put in there (the sliding face was acting up not working) with an other after market and replaced the front speakers with some old pioneers we had in storage. also im hoping and praying that the ac compressor is just stuck and not seized so im going to head to the advance auto parts to barrow the clutch tool to try and rotate it my self, if all else fails what year compressor fit in a 93 legacy wagon N/A?
  9. have you tried a silicone mold? i found this that could work http://www.instructables.com/id/Worlds-easiest-silicone-mold/
