  1. I fried my BIU too. Still lamenting my screw up because I know what I did wrong... If anyone has another idea for me to get the map lights to turn on when I open the door, let me know (tap into puddle lights?)
  2. Does anyone have pics of the install with the 5eat having shift controls on one side and volume on the other? If I understand correctly, I would only need to purchase the new controls and not a whole new wheel, right? I really want to do this mod. Anyone in SoCal that can help?
  3. On the current boards - Can I just swap the red and white rca inputs that lead out to my ipod?
  4. So ARE the channels L/R swapped on all the boards? I am wondering if mine is... If so, could I just mod the mini-plug cable to have L/R swapped? (or I guess I could just swap the RCA red and white plugs on the out huh?)
  5. Just wanted to update, that I installed the GLI from Radioshack ($16.99) and the slight hum noise that I heard when the engine was running is gone. In short, it works perfectly now! (w/iPod 10gig and Belkin adapter kit) Vote for best mod ever!
  6. If I felt a little more annoyed by the sound I would definitely do this. It is not audible unless you crank it way high (with nothing playing). Also, I will agree that the fact that the Belkin pauses the iPod when I turn off my car is one of my favorite things about it! My Monster iCarPlay just left it running - which was ridiculous.
  7. LOL - I was just testing it with nothing playing to see how quiet the connection was. Yeah, even with my non-amped stock radio, that would be a little loud!
  8. Just installed mine! Took me about 2.5 hours, but I did have to open the radio back up and tape up my audio cable connector. The gold at the end of the cable (radio shack gold 1/8" cable) was touching the metal box inside of the radio - which caused a noticable hum. Once I wrapped some electrical tape around it and re-installed, everything sounds great! [EDIT -- I would also like to add that the removal of the grounding screw on the passenger side of the radio on my radio is IMPOSSIBLE. I stripped mine out after much effort and ended up cutting the ground wire and removing the other 3 so I could rotate that bracket enough to get into the radio. I had to re-attach a post mount for the ground wire - which I screwed onto one of the other non-stripped screws.] Anyway - This mod is AWESEOME AWESOME AWESOME! Instructions are detailed with pics, and Jazzy even provides the blank disc to play in your CD player. I am getting a slight ground loop hum from my Belkin power adapter, but only when the volume on the radio is up to like 27 or so, with nothing playing -- I dont think I will notice it when Im driving. If I do, I can just unplug the power adapter. THANKS AGAIN! THIS TOOK CARE OF MY BY FAR #1 (and only real) GRIPE ABOUT MY LEGACY!!!!!!
  9. Yeah, thats good to know! One question - do you have the security system upgrade?
  10. Has this been performed successfully on a GT with the security system upgrade? I am worried about screwing that up somehow, but I really want to do this mod...
