General Question about installing a new motor
Dropping in a new motor this weekend, for those of you that have done this, what are some good tips that you have learned?

- Is it easier to have the turbo & exhaust manifold on or off when installing? Or does it really matter?

- Motor mounts, attached to the frame or motor?

Didn't you see my thread with pictures...didn't you learn nothing...

Exhaust manifolds on, turbo on, mounts on the block.

Oh, like I don't know it all, LOL

Good Luck, hope all goes well. I'll check in over the weekend after skiing...

Thanks for the tips, this will save more time once the motor is in.

Have you pulled the old motor yet?

Remove the front O2 sensor first. Don't ask me why, just do it.

Hope all is going well.

Update from VT, it was 17F and windy in the hill today. Felt like Jan skiing. Problem was we dressed for spring skiing...froz or butt's off...

Ran into 1 problem, the flywheel bolts i bought were for the single mass. Have to wait till tomorrow to get the dual mass flywheel bolts. Sucks ass, Becuase I wanted it in today.

I know it's to late now, but from what I remember I reused the oem t50+ on my rebuild.

2 of the bolts were stripped when removing, the other bolts are fine.

OUCH, I understand. sucks...

copenhagen6123 04-08-2013 11:12 AM

I need to get a new bolt as well, after the dual mass seized in a offset position. Getting that bitch off was a two person job.
