New AHA and Starlink Radio Upgrade

I got an email today from SOA offering to upgrade the navigation system in my 2013 with AHA. Has anybody done this? Is it worth it?

Curious if they offer upgrades to older models. Would you be able to ask them?

I'm bringing in the car for an oil change in a few days. I'll ask about upgrades for other years.

What is the draw for aha? I have it integrated into a kenwood hu I have in another car. It looks like another pandora or Iheartradio app. I prefer the latter. Never used aha though.

I have AHA, wasn't impressed by the sound quality. It was very Low-Fi. If you're not familiar w/ the set up. You down load the AHA app onto your smartphone and listen to content using your data plan.

There are a lot of content choices and someone might find it valuable. You can't easily navigate the app while driving, you have to pre-choose favorites.

That said, if it's free, it's worth it.

Is there any indication that AHA will work with the 2013 Nav via bluetooth for an Iphone any time soon? That is the main reason I don't use it. I just use Pandora or Iheart Radio since AHA isn't giving me any added benefit and those were my goto apps before I got the car

Haven't tried it but I saw in Settings there was a choice for USB or Bluetooth for AHA.

Bluetooth is only available if using an Android phone. This is additionally covered in the ownersmanual

I went my dealer on Saturday (Metrowest Subaru outside of Boston). It was obvious they are just figuring this out. The process is two step for them. First I had to bring my car in so they can collect/verify some data and fill out a form for Aha, then they order the upgrade (what ever that is SD Card?) and then I have to bring the car back in for the actual upgrade. Still waiting on the call back to schedule the upgrade..

Anyone else with a 13 Nav system recently update their maps? I am pissed that I have to pay for the very first update, even Garmin throws you a freebie.. Maybe I will inquire at my dealer.

Just keep in mind, this is not a simple SD card swap, and its not to upgrade the maps.

From what I understand, The nav unit, is what is being replaced... I have my order in for my '13, just waiting for the part to be delivered to the dealer. And Iphone does not work via BT only USB. Android works both BT and USB. We will see what happens when it is installed... I hope its worth it :)

It has been quiet here, but I found this thread from our outback friends that has some additional details and experiences, looks like there is quite a back log of folks waiting for their new head units to be shipped.
