the FMIC thread
I searched and couldn't find a photo thread for FMIC's, so I thought I would start one.

I wanted to show off the refurbishing of my RX FMIC via a kit produced by forum member KCwagon. The kit is basically black anodized aluminum strips and end tank cover panels that can be fitted to most any FMIC. It looks great on the RX FMIC because it can cover the piping. And it is a solution for those who want a stealth (black) FMIC that can survive daily driving use in all conditions.

This is my beat "stealth" FMIC 17 months after the last time I painted it.

Here it is after the KCwagon stealth trim kit.

This thread has the details on the stealth kit -

awesome thread! I'd like to see more fms/turboxs fmic's on 08-09s! I know there are a few members running this set up, just curious if that air pump causes fitment issues or not

I am thinking of going with the FMS kit to replace my X02 so I can get my fog lights back. I have no issue with my X02, it has been on there for years with no problems, I just want some bling in my engine bay (red krinkle painted pipes and fogs!).

Hey Matt......WRX style turbo?

And back when I had a front lip:

Originally an X02 FMIC kit but the top portions of the cold and hot side have been redone by VTSI Fabrication. The 3071 needed to be clocked ccw and the Blitz BOV was leaking so the hot side pipe was made to fit. The cold side is all 3.25" made to run blow through/MAP which I never got to run right.

In my pic, the flanged turbo is still on the car. That is long gone and am currently running a WRX style turbo. New Blouch 20G XTR on the bench waiting for install.

Nicely done. I have thought about doing the intake and turbo rotated set up.

Flipping the intake cut out A LOT OF PIPE! Was worth the effort.
