Newbie in WI

Hey guys, my names Connor. Yesterday I purchased my long sought after unicorn, an '05 LGT wagon w/ a 5-speed. There was a sticker for the forum on the car, so I'm hoping I can learn some history about the car.

Here is what I know. I bought it from my friend here in Madison, he bought it from a dealer in Indiana last year, and before that he thinks it came from Georgia. The car is blue, has yellow film on the fog lights, all the exterior trim has been wrapped with DiNoc "carbon fiber" vinyl. The car is lowered on unknown springs, came with some gunmetal 18" Buddyclub P1s, and has a cheap intake on it. It has Prosport oil pressure and boost gauges mounted on the dash, and boost is peaking at 17 lbs. Oil pressure isn't currently connected. It also has a plaid cloth shift boot.

I'm on my phone right now, but I will upload pictures later. Off the description, does anybody recognize this car?

Looking forward to learning more about these cars!

Welcome to the site!

Try searching on the forum with the VIN#. Maybe the previous owner made an attempt to sell their car on this forum.

Welcome

Here it is in winter mode when I test drove it. The windshield banner has since been removed (good guys though!).

The PS headlight has some condensation in it.

Summer wheels. Debating with these or some gold RPF1s I have. Probably these.

When I left the shop tonight the boost gauge was going berserk, wasn't reading any positive pressure. I have since found out that the PS end tank on the intercooler has ruptured and was repaired with JB weld some 10k+ miles ago, my fear was that the compound had failed. Apparently it is just an issue with the gauge as there is no leak anywhere and the car is still making full boost. I ended up yanking it out of the dash and unplugging it the beeping was so annoying!

Tomorrow I will trouble shoot why the gauge quit working for apparently no reason, and replace the front brakes on my WRX. Good thing its cold as shit.

Thanks for the tip! I found a couple of previous listings for it. Makes me quite relieved to know the car has been properly tuned.

Here is my car,

Was it tuned via open source, ECUtek, or Cobb AP?

Cobb AP is the most popular tuning tool and I hope your car came with it if that's the case. If it did not come with the Cobb AP, the tune may have been removed before sale.

Hmmm, the last 'for sale' listing only stated that it had an OTS Stage 2 from Infamous. Not sure on how it was loaded. I PM'd spartan, hopefully he gets an email notification and responds as he hasn't logged in since October. If the tune WAS removed, then it has been running that way for the last year and a half without any (noticeable) issues.

Some of my friends know one of one of the further previous owners, who apparently sold it in '08. Possibly the original owner. This sleuthing is going quite well!

Good luck with the detective work.

Yesterday the boost gauge was going ballistic at me. I drove it out to my shop without any fuss, worked on the paint for a few hours, went to drive home and the gauge wouldn't register any positive pressure and had this relentless shrill beeping. After a momentary panic I realized the car was still making boost exactly as it had been (strong pulls, no smoke, could hear the recirc valve 'sneezing' off throttle). So somewhere I guess the vacuum line got kinked going to the gauge?

I got sick of the beeping from the gauge real quick and just unplugged it for now. Going to trace the lines today and see what I can see.

After depriving the gauge of electricity for a day, it has learned its lesson and decided to behave from now on.
