Duel battery setup

im almost done collecting all my audio system components, the only dilemma i am running into is fitting 2 batteries under the hood. i dont want to have to mount them in the trunk(like in a BMW). to run all the wires from under the hood all the way to the back is going to be a big deal of time and money. if i fit both under the hood than i only have 1 cable to run to the rear. any ideas?

How about getting one hell of a powerful battery instead of 2?

Mind you, I am not an audio expert, but logic tells me that that is a possible solution?

I have heard that serious audio junkies run these beasts in their cars... no personal experience though since I am running a yellowtop since I accidentally killed my OEM battery.

im putting in 2 xs power batteries, im gonna be pushing 5000 watts just to my 2 subs.

Well all I can say is that theres probably no way to stuff 2 batteries in the hood.... best bet is one battery in the back and one battery in the stock location.

the two have to be close to each other. i may end up having to put a single battery in front and than the 2 xs power batteries in the rear, but that would run another $250 just on the battery.

Do the batteries have to duel to the death? Or is it only until first acid is drawn?

The amp has a powerful draw to push 5000 watts and one battery cant deliver that amount

I wanna hear that system. :D

CHUCKmfnNORRIS 01-19-2013 04:30 PM

Yeah. 2 15's pushing 2500 watts rms each makes some noise

I really need to upgrade the Sound System In my 4th gen. Not 5000 but 800-1000 seems ok.

5000 watts in a Subaru? How long before it rattles itself apart?

get a dual battery isolator. Red top up front
Yellow top in the trunk
do it, add caps if needed

CHUCKmfnNORRIS 01-19-2013 05:43 PM

capps are useless. if your system causes your lights to dim when the bass hits you do whats called "the big three" thats when you upgrade the two ground wires on your battery to a 0/1 gauge wire, and the same with the power wire that goes to the alt, and it only runs you $20 not $100-$250. if that doesn't do that job than you upgrade to a batter battery, than an alt, than a second or third battery.

ive been doing car audio for over 10 years. i've put together some nice competition systems.
