Removing flywheel
Preparing to do a clutch/TSK3/flywheel job. What are the best techniques for holding the flywheel in place while removing and installing the bolts?
|
I use a piece of metal bar stock with holes drilled in it to secure it to the block. You can also probably use a long screwdriver against one of the studs at the bottom of the engine if you are in a bind.
|
There is an access hole on the top of the engine to get at the flywheel teeth.. I put a screwdriver through and broke the bolts loose

Impact gun if trans is removed.
Long breaker bar and socket of crank pulley bolt, if the trans is only backed away a few inches. Torx plus bit as well, I thought it was a TP50 but do a quick search. I bought the bit and reused the original torx plus bolts, even with a SMFW. No issues. |
Only impact them out. I think it's common sense, but I'll say it anyways.

Great info guys, thanks.
