i have several options. swap my 93ss engine in, clean it up and sell it... or, strip it. not sure yet.

Lucky. Here in SW PA, 1st gens are remarkably rare. In fact, I saw my very first one in real life a month ago.

I bought it on the spot :)

However, I'll probably never see an SS, let alone drive, or god forbid, own one :(

sqc151 01-08-2013 09:31 AM

they are pretty rare around these parts to. (im the only one driving them) > turbo models anyway.

so u bought a turbo ss or you dont want one?? (im confused on your last 2 statements.

Believe me, I want an SS. I found a 91 L that I bought, but I'll probably never drive an EJ22T :(

I had never seen one here in Texas where I'm from...come to think of it there aren't many subarus at all, of course there are sti and wrx around but its nicer to see an older model legacy or impreza before they got popular with tuners..

A few weeks ago I saw a 93ss for the first time on craigslist, the owner wanted 1500 for it, its in running condition as well. I about crapped myself and looked in my savings account, I was a few hundred short!! What a heart breaker right. But I I did find a 91 LS wagon for quite a bit cheaper, its not in great running condition but the interior is immaculate except for the liftgate trim is cracked..I have wanted a 1st Gen legacy wagon before I got my 2nd Gen sedan. Finally got a good project to keep me busy for the year...I still have to finish what I want to do with my Bd...who am I really kidding though I love these cars and will playing with them forever.

I find SSs out here all the time. I found a touring wagon w/5MT for $2k, and a sedan that looked to be in great shape body wise but had some little issue for $1500 in the past two weeks. I also know where to pick up a black SS like mine for about $1200 with a lot of leaking seals but it runs. I'd love to get a few more, lol.

pleaidestar 01-17-2013 08:05 AM

Well f you ever get tired of one of those motors you can send it my way...;) I would slap that in my wagon without a thought.

monkeyposeur 01-17-2013 06:03 PM

Oh, I didn't buy them. I just found them, lol. But I do have a spare 22T block in my basement that I split. But I'm holding on to it. I have big plans for it.

sqc151 01-18-2013 06:31 AM

3 - 22t engines right

pleaidestar 01-18-2013 10:17 AM

Great...I started poking around my new old project last night and noticed the head gasket leak isn't too bad it only had a few bubbles on the dipstick, I am thinking that I might just put the 952.2 block in in it since I did all the seals and water pump 8 months ago, I do have a question about the cam cap on the front driverside looks the same but the sensor is a bit different, I'm wondering if the old sensor will bolt into the newer cam cap. If it does that is at least one less seal I have to replace and I have one more cam seal for the pass side front and back and the oil pump gasket and front main. I'm hoping to get that car on the road in a few weeks.
