What year 5MT are compatible with 07 lgt
Trans finally quit one me. Was wondering what year wrx 5 speed will work in my 07. Thanks for any and all help.

Don't know but the 5MT in WRX are worse than in our cars from what I remember reading.

09+ wrx trannies are comparable to 05+ lgt's 5mt strength. I know a few guys with 09+ that are running 400ft lb of torque through those for well over two years.

What did you break?

For a little bit more you can get a STi 6 speed installed, just an option.

Not sure what broke yet, trans is getting pulled today. Bad noise when car is moving and not in gear, as well as noise when clutch is depressed. As far as a 6 spd, I have been looking for one, but finding all the parts and the cost associated is a little daunting.

you will have to confirm this, but AFAIK the FD ratio of the 07+ 5mt is 3.92. Any 2.5L WRX trans with that same final drive should fit. (2.0L are push style clutch and would need the accompanying clutch and slave cylinder setup.)
05-06 LGT 5mts use a 4.11 ratio so if you got one of those youd have to find a matching rear diff to put in as well.

I have my trans apart as we speak, the center diff driven gear bearings were whirring away.

Trans is pulled, case cracked, 2nd gear said f*** it. I guess the hunt for a 6 spd is on.
