powdercoating or similar fmic pipes
So I'm not liking the stock aluminum finish on my newly fitted turboxs fmic, also while the KSTech brushed finish is nicer I'll probably change that too. So there are only two options I know of locally to get the pipework painted. First is powder coating. Second is just some vht wrinkle paint. Is there any downsides to coating the pipes? VHT paint I can do myself. Powder coating would involve me dropping them off to the powder coating shop. Will either have a negative affect on the cooling ability of the pipework? Oh and color will most likely be black!

dont have any right now, i'll take some tomorrow and post them here.

IMO, the winkle paint will hold dirt.
Could you ceramic coat them to keep out heat on the intake side. |
I had mine powder coated matte black. The core is also matte black but is coated in some thermal dispersant stuff.

http://legacygt.com/forums/attachmen...0&d=1339887135 I was not really trying to threadjack but I guess I am the resident king of powdercoating here. Its one of the things that makes my car different than most. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachmen...1&d=1339887135 http://legacygt.com/forums/attachmen...2&d=1339887166 There is a lot more in the thread http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...152682p10.html Pcoating is VERY resilient to anything but a very sharp and hard edge |
