Hood wont close
hey all. i need some help. i had to jump start my car the other day, and when i was finished, i went to close my hood, but it wouldnt latch. the safety catches, but the actual latch wont click shut. all the parts look in decent shape and work when i push down with a screw driver. but the hood just wont latch at all. i finally got it to click shut after like 3 hours of trying. anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem and mostly after it gets cold, all the junk and crap dries up, gets stiff, the hood won't close... Hit it with some WD-40 it'll probably lock up 1st shot like a charm! ;) |
Also check your Pull Lever and WD40 that as well.

You may have to adjust the latch up a little bit. I had to do that last year after my wagon sat on jacks for 5 months.

I may have to check this out. My hood looks like it's partly open

thanks guys. I'll have to give it a shot of WD40 over the weekend and see if it works.

I've had this problem when I left my hood up for too long with the engine running. I thought the issue may of been the hood being so cold (contracted) versus the hot engine compartment. +my perrin tmic :p

lube
yea i've had the same problem. Spraying the latch with wd 40 even in the dark when you can't see what you're doing fixes the problem everytime.

well i ended up spraying the latch on my hood today with WD40. I gave it a good soaking, along with everything else in the area. i let it sit for a couple minutes, and then sprayed it once more before trying to close the hood. i put the hood down, and gave it a little push, and it latched first try. I'll definitely keep that one in mind for next time. Thanks for the help!!
