Install single DIN Radio in Cubby slot?
Does anyone know if the Cubby door is a single DIN slot that would accept a radio? Thinking of installing my Nexus 7 in the Double DIN slot.

Yes you can install it. you have to do a search for radio conversions on the forum then special order the JDM part to make a radio fit in there.

Found this on AVOJDM but I was not sure about the 04+

I personally think this is possible but by no means plug and play, you'll probably have to fabricate a bracket and faceplate for it. |
I am also very interested in this. I'd like to install my Nexus 7 in the double DIN slot and then install a single DIN radio in the cubby to keep radio and my hands free steering wheel controls.

I will be ripping out the cubby this weekend.

I would love to install my Nexus 7 in my dash. I saw a video on YouTube a while back of a custom install in a Dodge Ram. Sick shit! Let us know if you do this

Going to need to be good with Fiberglass. It's a curved surface. The bezel for the headunit will be very small not easy to make.
Edit: Actually it would be very easy to make a mold of the cubby area since you could use the Cubby Lid. Then you would just trim it out and fiberglass that to the bezel included with the headunit. For the double din spot you could layer blue tape to copy the contour pretty easy I bet. Maybe something available in Japan?? http://media.caranddriver.com/images...s-1280x782.jpg |
That is a sweet dash!
