2013 2.5 real world MPG

I am close to buying a 2013 2.5 Limited. Would current owners comment on the real MPG they obtain. My salesman states 35 MPG on longer trips is what his clients have reported back to him. Thanks

Probably doable with 13 CVT at like 60-65 mph.

I average just over 32 on my 65 mile each way to work... The last 20 miles in traffic. I have the 6mt though.

This looks like fun...

I think I will just subscribe to a bunch of car forums and ask them about real world mpg of their cars and just waste everyone's time!!!

I get 99.9 MPG

...when coasting down a hill.

Typical Salesman nonsense talk. You can see ~35mpg in small bursts, but not average tank to tank. 30-31 is more likely w/ 2.5 & CVT.

The wife's '13 CVT has nearly 2k on it now. We just took a trip and kept up with some rough numbers on the return. The return trip was mostly highway (65%) and the rest local roads including mountainous terrain (Western NC, Eastern TN). Filled up @ departure and upon arriving home had traveled 297+ miles, and she still had slightly over half a tank left. I know this is not "real" mileage number but thought it better than some of the replies you already have :) Hope this helps.

If the 2013 models are like my 2011, the mileage estimates on the window sticker are pretty accurate. Steady state cruising at no more than 60 mph can show 37-38 mpg on the dash, which is still probably in excess of 35mpg even if that reading is a little optimistic. I have gotten around 33 mpg on a trip by keeping it under 70mph, but start heading past 75mph and it drops to 31-32mpg. My average stop and go driving gets 27-28mpg, and average highway driving is around 30-31mpg.

Hey dumbass, I provided him 4 sample threads with several hundred answers to his question so why don't you STFU.

Travlnman - I know I'd appreciate hearing your experience as the car breaks in. The 2013 has the newer DOHC chain drive engine and the 2nd Gen CVT, so I'm interested to see how much improvement, if any, there has been in fuel economy from the 2010-2012 Legacies.

From other threads it sounds like the 2013 is geared numerically lower and seems to be a bit quicker than the previous models. Anybody have any measured 0-60 times for the 2013? C&D got 8.7 - 8.8 seconds for the 2010.

My '01 GT Wagon with the 4 speed AT is painfully slow, and gets 22-27 mpg average per tank, 30 mpg on its best highway trip. I'm looking to update and improve both the performance and fuel economy.

Thanks to all that provide helpful info.:)
