lurker turning tuner
5 Attachment(s)
Hello everybody,

Picked up my '05 LGT Wagon 6 months ago.

Currently bone stock 5MT with 78,XXX and murdered out glass.

She's clean as a whistle (still a hint of new car smell) and runs like a top.

Ready to stop hitting snooze on this sleeper.

Big fan of this forum and looking forward to getting to know other enthusiasts.

Welcome! What are you looking at for your first wake up call?

Wow thats an epic find! I love RBP. My favorite LGT color.

My suggestion:

Stage 2
Downpipe Catted
or Downpipe Catless
Downpipe to OEM exhaust flange
Stage 2 Tune
VagCom Cable

Mods for Longevity:
Oil Pickup

Suspension at a minimum
Rear swaybar
Rear swaybar mount

Cobb AccessPORT seems like it would be a wise purchase.

I'd also like to stiffen up the suspension sooner than later.

Any and all tips/thoughts/jealous rants welcomed.

Skip the Accessport.

Cryotune... Thats Dave. He is one of the respected tuners on the site. Another idea would be to contact him, tell him what your goals are, let him guide you though his experience in what parts to buy and then pay him to etune your car. Win win. Good luck!

Great looking wagon! Funny, my RBP 5nt wagon had the exact sand mileage on it when I bought it last year. Also if you have the funds I highly recomend the Cobb AP, I've loved mine! That being said, it does have it's limits.. When I go stage 3 I might not be using it anymore.

One additional note, I picked up this ding free beauty at 73,XXX for 10K cash.

Commence jealous rhetoric.

Welcome. Nice wagon, like the color.

AP > opensource

bucko3the7man 11-30-2012 06:59 PM

Open source > AP if you never want to change maps and also have a smartphone to run the torque app

Looking forward to seeing your wagon join the wagon-mafia :)

Welcome to the site!

AP > OS in every way except up front cost. There is nothing OS can do that AP can't and those things the AP does better. The AP does alot that OS does not.

LosAngelesLGT 11-30-2012 08:14 PM

Like what that is gonna sell me on an AP?

mwiener2 11-30-2012 08:27 PM

If OS works for you, then you obviously don't need the capabilities of the AP. You must have a small turbo.
