Anyone have a 04-07 2.5L accessport available for use?

Long story short, I got sold a car without the accessport it was tuned with. Just got off the phone with a dude from the local shop. Hes saying for me to get my ecu back to stock form I would need someone with the above accessport to unmate from their car, mate to my car, return to stock form, or unmating the new accessport may return my ecu back to stock form.... sounds like a headache to me but better than taking my ecu out and sending it to cobb to have them unlock it and im out my ride atleast a day and half maybe more. Any help would be appreciated!.. Beers and some cash are included;).

Sorry dude, you are out of luck. Only way known as far as I understand is that the unit used to program HAS TO BE THE ONE USED TO DEPROGRAM or unmarry. AccessPort is linked to ecu. Either Cobb had to reset if at all possible, or new ecu is in your future. I will be corrected if I'm wrong.

nightspeed is right. You have to use the original AP that was used to tune the car by the previous owner to unmarry it. There may be some kind of open-source work around but I would post in the Tuning Forum to see what the gurus have to say.

Also, if you are going back to stock tune MAKE SURE you are all stock under the hood (turbo, downpipe, ect). Because if you run on a stock tune with extra performance goodies you will do bad things to your engine.

Find the original owner. The accessport is a brick to him.

so, this subject has come up before and I remember being surprised by the answer. I believe that if you marry a NEW ap to the car, it will overwrite the old one. Then when you unmarry it, it will flash back to stock.

Conventional wisdom says that you need the exact AP to do this, but I remember seeing somewhere that you do not. I'll try and find the post....

for example:

no.

V2 AP loads the current map from the car and saves it. When you unmarry it, it reloads the saved map.

So if you bought a new AP, married and unmarried, you be back where you started.

Call COBB. They will give you your options.

yes, it would load the same map back on, but his computer would no longer be locked. I'm assuming that is the point, not the lack of a tune (because the tune is obviously on there).

regardless of the answer, your first order of business should be to call Cobb and ask them.

If he has a locked tune, and the AP saves it, then reloads it onto the car, it will still be a locked tune.

PNWLEGACY, cant you find the person who sold it to you? If it was from a dealer ask if they took it off or something? Im sure someone has to have it because its an useless paper weight that cant be remarried.

I'll leave this here. http://zombieshop.bustedfingermotors...roducts_id=211

It's only good if he can flash over the married AP... which he can't unless he get's another AP, sends his ecu in, or finds someone with an EcuTek license.

doesn't the ap give you two choices for a tune? ones a flash and one that will get cancelled (deleted) if you unhook your battery??? maybe I'm dreaming someone educate me here please havnt used the ap for a while.
