lgt 5mt to 4at?

Tranny's out in my 97 gt sedan. Thinking about using this opertunity to convert it to an auto transmission. Any extra things I would need to add? Wiring harnesses I'm assuming?

Wait... FROM a manual TO an auto? O__________O I am disappoint

Manual to auto is very very time consuming. Complete wiring for the tranny.

wiring, ecu, tcu, egr valve, etc. Its a nightmare to do. Not worth the trouble. Go buy an automatic car.

theres plenty of guys that would be more than willing to trade your car as is for a running auto, plus manual you get all the added benefits of 50/50 torque split, better mpgs, and better control over rpms, would kill to have one right now..just gotta get the swap done on the other leggy and im good to go!

Not to mention you will have to swap out the pedal assembly. Way too much work.

well... 5mt tranny is in the rebuild process. i was only interested in the 4at swap cause eventually when i graduate up to a new lgt my little sister is gonna end up with my leggy... and she doesnt drive 5 speed. guess she's gonna have to learn:lol:

Baddog 11-22-2012 04:05 PM

I did my 5 speed swap in a day and a half. Still running great to this day. Just going to an automatic is more of a wiring nightmare than going from a 4EAT to 5MT

If you can't drive a manual you shouldn't drive at all (Unless physically disabled requiring an auto)
