Custom Exhaust
 

Anyone here had a friend (who happens to be a great finish welder) build you a custom exhaust for cheap?

Where does one find the dimensions for the downpipe, headers, y-pipe, etc? Does such a task require that the stock exhaust come off to be used as a template for the new one?

Experiences, thoughts? I ask because as much as I like the TXS system (it's super pretty), I've got the opportunity to go Stage2 for much cheaper. .

On my WRX I had grimmspeed headers/uppipe and bought an ebay downpipe. Fabbing the cat back is very easy if you buy mandrel bent 3" pipe. just make sure you get a good grade of stainless and weld it with stainless wire otherwise the second salt hits it you are going to have to do it over again
