replacing rack and pinion bellows

Anyone replaced their rack and pinion bellows lately?
I would also call it the steering rack boot, but that's what all the parts houses call it.
Cheapest is $20 from AZ per side!
That's the same price I paid for the ones on my wife's '01 Audi A8L.
And 10 times more than I paid for the car.
Any other alternate solutions?
I'm thinking 2-3 inch rubber inter-tubes clamped on.
Any BTDTs?

'93 Legacy AWD Wagon, 240K miles

Promised my Cuz he could paint it camo at 250K, trying to get there.

So you bought the car for $2? If you are that cheap just use a paper bag.

I dont think a paper bag will last that long. Any better ideas or a better/ less expensive place to get new parts?
I just put on new brakes and rotors, a battery, doing the bearing this weekend and the PS pump is leaking too. Starting to become a maintance money hole, so yea, I looking to go cheap on $44 worth of rubber boots.

Rockauto.com has them for about $12 each. With shipping you can get both bellows for $31.70. I've had a few wheel bearing go out on my '95, ha ha. As far as replacing your wheel bearing are you going to take it to a shop and have them press in a new one or just get a whole assembly? Replacing the whole assembly is a lot easier, of course.

$12 is better, I didn't think to look there. Thanks

I've have access to a 20 ton press, did the other side 2 years ago.
Had to rent a Posi Lock puller to get the outer bearing off after pressing it out of the knuckle. We will see how close I can get to the 4.5 hour shop time.
