FT(NJ)- Invidia CBE for GT Stock CBE+$150

2 Attachment(s)
I'm looking to trade my Invidia CBE for $150 + a stock CBE off of a 5th Gen GT. I love the exhaust but the drone seems to be too much for my son...I saw him holding his ears while I was driving and I felt really bad. I just installed it on 10/17/12. Its in very good condition. Looking to do a local swap-I'm in West Milford, NJ (07480).[

The left muffler was cleaned to do a comparison. I cleaned the rest of it after this pic was taken.

So sad, but completely understand. I applaud you for looking after your family. I'm kinda in the same boat, but I don't have my fam in the car much. I love hearing the engine being a subie enthusiast, but some would disagree:(

Thanks Whit. I LOVE the sound that this exhaust creates, BUT, I drive my son 30 mins to my in-laws everyday. If I didn't have him in the car, I wouldn't let this go. I'm very upset about this.

how loud is it? I want the performance gains of an exhaust with very minimal sound. I enjoy having a quiet car for the most part, but enjoy a little bit of sound every so often.

Honestly, you can't even tell there's an aftermarket exhaust when its idling. You can hear it on a cold start or when you get on the gas. Not super loud but not quiet either.

As soon as your son is old enough to appreciate cars, he's gonna be pissed at you for getting rid of it! ;) Just kidding (sorta)! What about just picking up some noise dampening headphones for him?

Really good deal, wish I was in the area. Props for looking after your boy, that really is too bad though.

I'm just going to look at it as a good story to tell him when he's older and we're working on his car. This kid doesn't have a choice....he WILL be a car guy:lol:

Good idea but he probably wouldn't want to wear them. I would also have to get a pair for the wife!

Rail, did you consider undercoating of the underbody around the spare tire well, maybe some dynamat inside the spare tire well and trunk and a resonator installed in the mid-pipe? It seems like some others on the forum have done this stuff with positive results on the level of drone. You could start with undercoating ($8) and then dynamat (probably $100) and then a resonator ($150-200)

Yeah, I thought about it. I just don't want to go through all of that and end with only a little improvement. Although I'm sad to see it go, it is most likely going to a good home.

BMA44 has first dibs on it but until the deal is complete, I'll keep this thread up. I'm 99% sure this is going to him though.

oh yeah, this is a done deal! LOL

rail, i'll also throw in my magnaflow axle-back at no cost if you want it. NO drone at all and very subtle with the OEM midpipe. at least you have the option of stock mufflers and the magnaflows.
