Tragedy and so young.

Amazing what damage velocity can do!..imaging taking a tree and trying to cut a car in half with it!

I blame the parents more than the teen.

laff79 10-09-2012 06:21 AM

1.) should've never been driving that car
2.) should've never been driving that car with 4 other people in it
3.) should've never been driving that car with 4 other people in it at 3:40am
4.) too soon for part-out thread?

Why the parents would buy the kid that car at 17 is beyond me. Why they would allow him to take the car out at that hour without an adult is beyond me. Why the ejected folks weren't wearing seat belts is beyond me.

As for part out, I don't think there is any useable parts left.

So sad, but so preventable.

most parents are ignorant about these cars. All they see is Subaru's safety ratings. so they just buy it not knowing that kids cant handle them.

Very true. It's too bad and scary being that they're only 2 years younger than me. I can't imagine dying 2 years ago.

RIP unparented driver and unfortunate to be there passengers.

laz 10-09-2012 07:34 AM

The driver made it. The other 4 passengers did not.

CT went through a bunch of these, seemingly within 4-5 years...

I still dont get it. Why buy an inexperienced kid a fast car?

^ thats good and all... And i dont want to arm-chair parent. BUT, ignorance is not always an option. When picking a kids car, you need to be educated on the subject.

whitetiger 10-09-2012 07:44 AM

what should be done, and what is done, are often 2 different things. most people dont even know what a turbo is, let a lone what it does or means when a car has one.

jasejase 10-09-2012 07:54 AM

like i said, ignorance isnt always acceptable.. I hear what your saying.

Rule of thumb... if there is a car that your teen driver WANTS. Thats likely the one they shouldnt have. :)
