AT transmission for drag race and daily use
Just simple question... are there any AT transmission suppliers for my needs?? I know Rigoli have some options years ago, but on my taste they are bit too race.
How about markets in these days?? Electronic shift option would be nice and flappy pedals to steering wheel too... Tranny must handle least 600hp / 550ft/lbs |

Before you go further, have you considered picking up a MT Legacy, say a 2009 6MT Spec.B? The reason I ask is that although what you ask for is doable, the options of strengthening the AT are much more limited than what you can get with a MT.
You gotta think about the rest of the drivetrain too. Rear and front diff. You can do all sorts of swaps on a MT, not so much on AT. |

Make sure you talk to ClimberD and frankster, they are the resident 5EAT experts.
Hexmods F1 valve body, upgraded center differential would be the starting point. You're in pretty uncharted territory for a 5EAT though, so you may be replacing a lot. |

He is probably pushing the most whp for an auto. He was going to run his car in the Texas mile. He had IPT build his tranny, but ended up having to get a ClimberD valve body as well when it started slipping. Another poster seemed to indicate that IPT was now using a TransGo like kit in their VB now too (instead of the $0.50 spring they used to charge $769 for :lol:), so maybe their builds are a little better now. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea....html?t=177909 |
+1 for shaving down the pistons in the clutch pack to add more steel/clutch for each gear:) I think ipt did something like that for 4th gear an one other
