eibach springs will give you a 25mm drop

I didn't see any BE/BH specific Eibachs on their site.

But afaik Tein and H&R are the only two that have BE/BH specific springs. Then pair with some KYB's or if the Tokico special is still available, they seem to be a good choice.

I will be going with the Tokico's and H&R's after winter when I can get a chance to work comfortably.

No one makes springs for the sedan. they are for the wagon . they will fit but you need different upper strut bearings and spring cups for the front . I dont think they drop in the back because they are for a heaver car. to do it right buy coilovers. or just hack it and cut yours.woot.

I know plenty of ppl who have put H&R's on a sedan w/o any modifications.

00-04 sedan and wagon have nearly the same curb weights....And the GT is actually heaver than an L wagon.

Wagon 3,515 - sedan 3,245 = 270 lb dif. all in the back side. depending on engine and tranny.

Curb weight: (app) in pounds

L sedan: 3,245 manual trans, 3,310 auto trans.
L wagon: 3,335 manual trans, 3,400 auto trans.

Even the Tein flex coilovers use the same P/N sedan BE/wagon BH.

The suspension is exactly the same BE/BH.

Also another option is to use 01-05(iirc) WRX front springs and 05-09 LGT springs.
The BE/BH Leggys got a multilink rear that the Impreza did not get, that carried on into the 4th Gen Leggys. Tein also shows the 08+ WRX uses the same front spring P/N as the 00-04 Leggy on their site.

Honestly the best bang for your buck is HR Springs with WRX top hats and new struts of your choice.

rougeben83 10-08-2012 04:08 PM

You can use wagon springs on the sedan. The confusion is that the hr springs were patterned after EDM/JDM springs which use the same upper spring perch as the gd impreza. USDM front springs use a wider perch and will not seat these kind of lowering springs properly

BrandonJ 2001 GT Limited 10-08-2012 04:21 PM

Ahhhh....so I'd need GD Impreza front perches to use the H&R's correctly?

octain11 10-08-2012 05:15 PM

any front set up thats for specifically for our legacy, but is subaru will need top hats of that car, 4th gen, sti, wrx etc...

MRLancaster 10-08-2012 09:58 PM

I never changed the perches, and have had zero issues. And I travel a lot.

GTborn01 10-08-2012 10:54 PM

I just put my H&R's on and had to buy GD Impreza front spring seats (cone shaped). They will drop you in both front and back. It's half the price of coilovers to get new springs and struts. Get the springs from ebay or amazon for the cheapest price.
If you don't get the perches, the spring won't sit in the groove and will pop around, constantly changing you steering alignment.
