New 2009 Legacy

Just bought a 2.5i with 20k mileage on it. Looking to run this car for a long time... the journeys just begun looking to do a lot of things to the car:
1. Smoke out headlights and back
2. Lip kit
3. Tints
4. Looking for a scoop should i find a GT hood or just buy a scoop off somewhere?
5. Want sti BBS rims but looking for a cheaper alternative?
6. Black out grill

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Also does anybody know where i can find the regular maintenance schedule for my car? Looking for info on when to perform oil changes, rotate tires, air filter etc. My first car!

Just beautiful, I love mine. Are you gonna do something with the suspension?

Sexy car! Enjoy & welcome!

Why a hood scoop on a NA car? Don't do it!

And when you say smoke out headlights, what exactly do you mean?

I see what you are saying, but my 01 RS had a hood scoop and it was NA. but I do agree with you on it, but hey, it's his car. I actually like them without one....

Welcome! That's a nice first car, I'm sure you'll enjoy it for a long time. The maintenance schedule can be found in your owners manual. It is also online at mysubaru.com.

If he gets a hood scoop he is going to get soap in...ah never mind!

If a car comes with a good scoop, is cool, if it does not, why add drag to your car?

Congrats! I second the no scoop recommendation. I would also paint the little chrome strip on the tail lights. I did it and I think it looks way better.

Thanks everyone. I personally thought the scoop looked good like the RS. But maybe not... Also by smoking out the lights I mean blackout lights.

Why would you want to reduce the amount if light your car puts out? Do you only drive in the daylight?

By blackout you mean getting rid of the chrome right?

Enjoy your car man... The 2.5i's are pretty fun, and the fourth gens are good lookin' cars.

As for the hoodscoop... if you like the looks of it - i would look for a replacement hood and do it right (check junk yards for rear end totals)... As for the lip kits, and all that jazz - to each their own. However.... I would ask that you consider not altering the light output of your tails or headlights... Looking good and being functional are two different things. You dont want to increase your odds of getting into an accident for a purely aesthetic reason. In addition, i dont want you to increase my odds of causing me or my family harm... :)

Sway bars are typically my only performance related recommendation to the 2.5i guys... Really helps with handling performance... And thats only if you push your 2.5i or are a enthusiast who craves the better feel. Anything performance wise above and beyond that... you likely bought the wrong car
