Runners: Events in PNW in the next couple months?

Just like the title says, looking for what upcoming running based events are coming soon. I know Warrior Dash and Tough Mudder are next month, but I'm not prepared for them (probably WD, but not TM). I pulled my quads at training Friday so couldn't participate in my half marathon this morning that I've been training for the past 2 months. Looking to hit up something 5 miles or greater around Sea-Tac area either end of September or beginning October. What events and where are good places to train/run that won't result in my laying dead on the side of the road.

I know, there aren't nearly enough black men around here for all the white women.

There is a 5K up on August 25th in Bothell coming up that myself and my family will be attending (too early for you?). My mother is the marketing director for Healthpoint so she is the one putting this on. The cost is relatively small as this is the first year this is being put on. Realistically, all the entrance fees are going directly to the setup fees as they don't think they will actually be making a profit (if they did, it would obviously be going to running the community health centers). It is more to "raise awareness" of health and the idea of community health centers; hopefully this will grow into an annual event. The last I heard was they already more than 300 people signed up.

Let me know if you have any questions.

here the their homepage, there is a registration link on the main page:

I wont be there until after Sep 2. Otherwise a 5k would be a great conditioning run.

are you moving here permanently? From AK I assume?

I'll talk to the wife and see if she knows what/if any races are coming up. She's the runner in the family, not me :)

Temporarily maybe for a year. Depends on work/job.

Do they have a half version? I really don't want to do a full, just a half.

yeah, the seattle marathon is big. They have a 5K, 10K, half and full.

EDIT: looks like the 10K is this saturday, which is odd. The 5K is the day before the half and full marathon.

I've run that half 6 years in a row now and love it. :D HILL training is a must though!!! ;) Don't let it catch you off guard. Be prepared to run in low 40's high 30's too. Although, I'm sure that's not a problem for you. :p
