I really can't decide.

The great thing about Plasti-Dip is that you can peel it off if you don't like it. so... Do it, then decide. Stop looking at a little 5x7 on a computer screen.

Yeah, that's true. Plus it's pretty cheap. Just wanted to get some opinions before I made the trip to Home Depot.

IMO, do it. Love the black on silver, and it tends to be a popular choice in general.

Do it. Black on silver, do it. Do it.

+1 for do it. It's easily reversible. This is the beauty of plastidip. Just make sure you get enough coats on there. If it's too few coats, it will not bond to itself very well and it will be a real pain in the ass to get it off. It will still come off, but you'll have to rub at it for a while. 4-5 coats for good coverage and it will come off like a big piece of latex when you want it to. I know it seems a bit counter-intuitive that adding more will make it come off easier, but trust me, it's true.

If you haven't seen it yet: www.dipyourcar.com for tips, tricks, etc.

Especially with those already dark heads and tails.

Looks like I'm gonna have to go for it next week! The car's actually a light gold color, champagne to be exact haha. But yeah, I've been looking at dipyourcar.. there's some pretty helpful stuff on there. Thanks for the input guys!!

a couple tips i have from my experiences with pd
-dont spray to close
-dont wait to long between coats(can says 30 min)
-get that spray handle attachment if you dont have it(i forget who makes it). the cans a weird shape and the handle will make it easier
-you DONT have to mask off the wheels (see video)
-spray in short bursts (like in the video)
-be careful when tightening the lug nuts

also you might like it if you leave the center caps silver. like these \/

* i would remove them from the car though

i have to redo mine.. again. there was bubbling the second time and on thursday the guy doing my inspection ripped the pd from the lug holes >:[

I love the look of the black rims. Sold my black tarmacs which looked great on my Outback.

I say go for it. It's not the most top quality finish you're going to find but it does hold up pretty well and if done right looks pretty dam good. You also can't beat the price. If you end up liking it..save up and when its due to be redone, get them powder coated. If you don't like...just peel it off.

Also read up on best ways to apply plastidip, maybe waste a can or two practicing on a spare wheel or other random part to get the right feel for it. You for sure don't want to be too close, but you also don't want to be too far away or the texture will be VERY rough and hard to clean when it's dry because you'll end up with layers of dried overspray essentially, which will hold, but like I said will be textured really heavily.

Do it, why not? If you like it then maybe go for better finish like powder coating (or not), if you don't like it no big deal take it off.

Go for it, you'll be so happy
