CNT DP mating up with SPT CBE

I have the CNT DP and SPT CBE with a grimspeed gasket and still have a leak. It is tight together. What do i need to do or try?

Rtv?

It is leaking out from the top pretty good. If i pull down on the two (dp and CBE) at the joint it goes away a little, but not much.

Stupid question, but did you replace the donut gasket?

Now did you use an adapter? That goes from DP 3" to CB 2.5"? Gasket on DP side and donut on CB aide?

No I just used a greemspeed flat gasket. I thought the SPT cbe is 3". I did not use a donut gasket

Well, that's your problem.

The SPT is 2.5" at the flange which mates to the DP. You need to get the 2.5" to 3" adapter, and get a new donut gasket as well.

For future reference, the SPT is 2.5" at that point, but buffs out to 3" just a few inches further down. Then it shrinks down again at the Y.

had the same problem. you'll need the adapter. i tried doubling up the flat gaskets, rtv, etc, kept leaking from the top. got the grimmspeed adapter with new donut gasket and flat gasket and all is well. there's an angle conflict between the two pipes so the donut is pretty much required.
