Unable to open trunk with key
I tried the other day to open the trunk using the key the other day and it did not work. The actual keyhole is just above the license plate on the right side. I tried inserting the key both ways but it does not turn to open the trunk.
The manual says it is the same key to open the trunk as the remote master key. I suspect it is not a real problem until one day when you have an emergency and you can't get in your trunk the normal way. Anyone else have this problem? Or is there a trick to this? Thanks. |
Works for me. You might have to make a trip to the dealer.

in your glove box there is a button that locks the trunk off so that a person with the valet key can not get into your trunk using just the key and not the button.

Thanks for the responses.
The button in the glove compartment only disables the trunk release located in the car. I tried key on both remotes and no luck. I will add it to my list for when I make the next trip to the dealer. |
I tried mine for the first time on my 2012 the other day. After only one winter, you could feel it was already a bit crunchy. I'm thinking the 'key' is to use them every now and then. Maybe even shoot in some spray lube.
After ~3 Toronto winters of no use, I'm not totally surprised it's not functioning based on how mine felt. Joel |
i just tried my key and it worked just fine.

I guess I'll try to test mine out tomorrow.

Are you trying the Valet key?

LOL! Not so great wording on my part.
4 kids and a minivan will do that to you. |
Well, thanks to this thread I now know I can open my trunk with the key. I will never do it again, but at least it worked for me.
