HDI Lights for 2011 Legacy?

Hey guys and gals,

I just purchased a pearl white legacy limited and I absolutely love it. I do most highway miles so my average is 30mpg! Anyways..

I would love to get some true HDI lights for my car but have no idea how to go about it. There are so much out there I don't want to get something I don't really need.

Its my understanding that you can't just get bulbs, its more like a kit.

Any suggestions?

Did you mean HID Lights?

Best to do a search first to research the HID options.

Hey - they're over a grand a whack, but you can get Subaru ones from japanparts.com

The Legacy apparently gets HID lights in other markets, just not here... it's weird - WRX limited = HID, but Legacy GT limited = halogen :spin:

go big or go home, right :)

or research www.hidplanet.com

Also look for IDRVSLO. He does retrofits here.

^^^+1

You are better off getting in contact with IDRVSLO and get his input and you may be
inclined to get one of his customized options.

I don't get the impression the O.P is ready to spend $$$$$ for custom headlights with IDRVSLO just to get HID.

Standard is 35w around 5000k for a factory HID color.

In my opinion you really only have 2 options, #2 being the option you should go with.

1) $40 - DDMTuning Kit H7
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

2) $150 - Morimoto Elite HID System H7

I always suggest purchasing the separate wiring harness along with the HID kit.

Shameless self promotion.... I have the morimoto kit for sale in the classified section now.
:D

Thanks guys for all of the info. I think I might actually hold off until I finish paying off the car. Then I will have money to buy toys.. So, next year this time I will be some some upgrades! Unless the 2013 models come out and they look just awesome :-)

ChevyNovaLN 03-04-2012 12:40 PM

The 2013 and 2014 will likely be the same with subtle changes most likely to the interior, unless they happen to toss HID in this time :) So yeah, get toys for your 2011 unless you want to wait 2 more years to see what the 2015's have to offer.

Hey Timothy...

...There is a Subaru Light Guru in your backyard...mr_luv...He has a basement full of headlight parts...AND is doing my blackout headlight with HID fog, lo & hi beams...my second set from him would be blacked out quad morimoto HID projector bi-xenon, LED turn/park replacement bulbs & H.I.L.E.D bars for fogs.

CRAZY KEN

I can give you his info or you can just attend one of our local monthly meets
